Arctic Monkeys New Video for ‘Cornerstone’

One of Scenewave’s favourite bands, The Arctic Monkeys, have released their second single off their new album ‘Humbug’ this week. Accompanying the release is the video for the new single.
The concept behind the video is extremely simple, a one-shot clip that finds lead singer Alex Turner in oversize vintage headphones singing into a cassette tape recorder in front of a white background. There is not much else to it than that, apart from Turner’s subtle swagger and ridiculous facial expressions. The whole clip is cringe-worthy yet very funny at the same time, very Napoleon Dynamite-esque.
It is directed by actor Richard Ayoade, aka Ned Smanks, who has already directed the ‘Fluorescent Adolescent’ and ‘Crying Lightning’ videos.
Track Listing:
1. Cornerstone
2. Catapult
3. Sketchead
4. Fright Lined Dining Room
