Vig: My Top 5 Sets Live

A few standout gigs from the last few years in no particular order.
The Vines – Splendour in the Grass 2006
Nicholls strolled out singing the first line of ‘Highly Evolved’ and finished with a typically chaotic performance of ‘Fuck the World’. Guitars in the air, mic stands through speakers. Awesome.
Sigur Ros – The Tivoli 2006
My first concert in Brisbane. The revolutionary Icelandic band played through Takk… and shed a little light on what heaven may sound like.
Band of Horses – Splendour in the Grass 2008
Absolutely killer set, made that much better when The Drones came out to help finish ‘The General Specific’.
The Shins – Splendour in the Grass 2007
Started off slow but built an incredible momentum on the back of songs like ‘New Slang’ and ‘Turn a Square’. The set went half an hour over time, which made me miss the start of The Arctic Monkeys and not even care.
Architecture in Helsinki – The Falls Festival 2008/2009
Break My Stride – Matthew Wilder. That is all.
