Holy Ghost! I Will Come Back To You

It’s no secret I’m a massive fan of James Murphy’s phenomenal musical project LCD Soundsystem, so when a band by the name of Holy Ghost! comes along I’m happy to sit up and take notice.

Why is that you ask? Well, Holy Ghost are signed to James Murphy and Tim Goldsworthy’s label, DFA Records.

New York based, DFA have successfully ushered in some of the best electro inspired tracks to the US mainstream, not only from New York, but across the globe. Their impressive roll call includes the likes of Hot Chip, The Juan Maclean, Hercules & Love Affair, the aforementioned LCD Soundsystem and now NYC’s Holy Ghost!

Remixing the likes of Phoenix, Cut Copy and MGMT along the way, Holy Ghost! are set to not only follow in the footsteps of their peers, but carve their own path into the crowded electro-pop scene. Their 2008 hit ‘Hold On’ gave fans a glimpse of their potential.

Probing, distorted, old-school synths abound in the Brooklyn duo’s latest track ‘I Will Come Back’. A distinctive 80’s influence is ever present, with urgent vocals only serving to highlight the line ‘I will come back to you, to you’.

Holy Ghost! are two guys to watch in 2010, with their debut full-length due out early next year on DFA records.
