Black Cab Sessions

Words by Scenewave Australia - Published on April 1, 2010

We stumbled across the ‘Black Cab Session’ on our daily internet search for new music. They are a series of one-song performances by musicians recorded in the back of a black cab and filmed for an internet audience.

“one song, one take, one cab”

– Black Cab Sessions

With surprisingly clean acoustics these black cab sessions seem to be a massive internet sensation, enabling them to attract some of the biggest names in indie music. The artists that have recorded sessions include Beach House, Bombay Bicycle Club, Cold War Kids, Fanfarlo, Fleet Foxes, Grizzly Bear, The Kooks, Lightspeed Champion, Laura Marling, Mumford and Sons and Spoon, just to name a few.

We’ve picked out our four favourites for you to enjoy but if you’d like to see more be sure to visit their website
