Bear Safari at the Hi-Fi

Words by Scenewave Oz - Published on June 4, 2011

For those of you who were lucky enough to secure tickets to the Hi-Fi tonight, you are in for something special. Boy & Bear and Jinja Safari will play to a packed out West End show on Boy & Bear’s Autumn 2011 Australian Tour. I highly anticipate that Boy & Bear will play a set list featuring many of their new songs which will end up on their unnamed LP that is due this year.

If their EP Emperor Antarctica is anything to base judgement on (being Australia’s second highest selling physical EP in last year’s ARIA charts) we can expect their Joe Chiccarelli (The Strokes, The Shins, My Morning Jacket, White Stripes) produced album will be something amazing.

If you didn’t secure a ticket to the show have a listen to the songs below or grab their EP here. If all else fails hopefully you’ve grabbed a ticket to Splendour in the Grass 2011 as tonight will be a nice little warm up gig for the end of July, at Woodford.

For those who haven’t heard of Jinja Safari, they only formed in 2010 winning the Triple J Unearthed Competition to play SITG. Gaining great support in such a short period of time, their energetic performances and catchy afropop rhythms surely serve as a great support slot for tonights gig.
