The weekly music exposition – Week 2

Week two of the weekly music wrap that brings together the news that goes on around Australia (more so Brisbane) and the world, that you might not have heard. Some may be relevant for you, some may not, however hopefully this will be a nice little synopsis!
- Fortitude Valley’s, ‘Nine Lives Gallery’ is having a fundraiser at The Zoo, Thursday July 14. The gig will feature Mitzi, Tiger Beams, Little Casino, Saw Tooth, Victoriana Gaye and more. Tickets are on sale for $10 at the door, which opens at 8.
- Brisbane’s Inland Sea are playing at the powerhouse in Brisbane every Friday of July beginning July 1. There’s only 10 in the band, so you can’t miss them!
- Busby Marou are on the cusp of releasing their debut album. If you haven’t heard them you should check them out at the Old Museum on the 1st of July and if not there, they’re playing Reconciliation Beats at Musgrave Park on July 9.
- The Falls Festival first lineup has been announced with nice little sweeteners on the bill. Arctic Monkeys, Fleet Foxes, The Jezabels and Tim Finn feature.
- On the topic of Falls Festival. If you have enjoyed Sunset Sounds in the past two years, unfortunately it has been scrapped in 2011. Make sure you get Falls tickets!
- NME put it to the masses to find out who their readers thought was the, ‘worlds greatest singer’. 10 million casted a vote with Michael Jackson being declared the best. Second went to Freddy Mercury, 3rd to Elvis Presley, 4th Axl Rose, 5th John Lennon and so on. Number 11 went to Matt Bellamy of MUSE. He was the only one in the top 20 to have emerged in the last 25yrs!
