So they haven’t been to Oz since 2008 and the wait is finally over! Lead singer Jonsi has confirmed in a recent interview with triple J that his epic Icelandic band Sigur Ros will be touring Australia in November 2012! While they haven’t confirmed dates, it’s rumoured that their visit will be conveniently timed around Brisbane’s newly created Harvest Festival.

For those looking for the epic Sigur Ros concert of old, you will not be disappointed, as according to Jonsi, the group is bringing an entire orchestra on their tour. Sigur Ros’ new album Valtari comes out on the 28th May 2012. Here’s the single from the album, Ekki mukk.

“I think we’ll want to take some strings with us, especially when we’re playing the new album. It will be difficult to translate those songs live without them.”

To get you in the mood, attached is a live vid of Hoppipola from their November 2008 tour at Lowlands.
