Muse’s New Single “Survival” – 2012 Olympic Theme Song

Muse has once again left nothing in the studio with the release of their first single for their upcoming album 2nd Law, which is set to be released in Australia on the 14th SeptemberThis extravagant tune, “Survival”, has also been selected as the official song for the London 2012 Olympics. It is as epic as ever (standard Muse), leaving the listener exhausted by the end as it moves from complex and intricate classical strings into layered 5-part vocal harmonies accompanied by some boppy, Queen-inspired keyboard, and finishes with an intense solo on Bellamy’s insane Kaoss guitar pad. Some say it’s not enough like the Muse they know and some say they’ve ripped off their own sound ‘too much’.

Say what you will about it, at the end of the day it’s just Muse being Muse. Dramatic, explosive, over the top, whatever you want to call it, it’s certainly worth a listen, so here it is below.
