St Jerome’s Laneway Festival 2013 Lineup Released

Words by Scenewave Australia - Published on October 4, 2012

The 2013 Laneway Festival lineup has landed and it is a beaaaauty. The Laneway organiser preceded their announcement by claiming that it is one of their greatest lineups to date. What do you think?

Anyway, we think it’s bitchin, with a lot of artists we barely know yet. From what we can tell though, these guys are good at picking emerging artists that will have well and truly have come good by the time Laneway comes around in late January. Obviously, straight off the bat, we are frothing over Yeasayer’s inclusion in the lineup. Their third record, Fragrant World has been on repeat over here at scenewave.com and we can’t wait to hear it reproduced live alongside a couple of their other Odd Blood and All Hour Cymbals classics!

We’ve been digging Alpine all year, those hot babes put on an amazing show, and they won’t disappoint. Now… the band the world has been talking about (maybe Australia’s been a little slow catching on)… Alt-J! Their debut record An Awesome Wave is insanely unique, a sound that everyone is struggling to categorise and we can’t wait for them. Of Monsters And Men will be wild again – their catchy, cute Icelandic accents will be sure to bring a lot of fun summery dancing to this #lewse festival.

Here’s the lineup in alphabetical order:

ALPINE – ALT J# – BAT FOR LASHES – CHET FAKER – CLOUD NOTHINGS – DIVINE FITS – EL-P – FLUME – HENRY WAGONS & THE UNWELCOME COMPANY – HIGH HIGHS* – HOLY OTHER – JAPANDROIDS# – JESSIE WARE – JULIA HOLTER – KINGS OF CONVENIENCE – THE MEN – MS MR – THE NEIGHBOURHOOD – NICOLAS JAAR## – NITE JEWEL* – OF MONSTERS AND MEN* – PERFUME GENIUS – POLICA – POND – REAL ESTATE# – THE RUBENS – SHLOHMO – SNAKADAKTAL – TWERPS – YEASAYER
