Weekly Playlist 86 features Jake Bugg, Gui Boratto, Alt-J(∆), Cub Scouts, Placebo, Tame Impala, Foals and Kindness.
Jake Bugg – Two Fingers
wow. Can’t get this out of my head. It’s so refreshing to hear someone channel Bob Dylan/Oasis/John Lennon nowadays, exuding typical British winging – in this case on the topic of teenage rebellion. It may just be the beginning for this 18 year old Brit. RG
Gui Boratto – Beautiful Life
An old track that a mate let loose on me in Europe. Layers layers layers. Its just beautiful. MZ
Alt-J(∆) – Something Good
Came home with the Mercury Prize. What were you worried about? The change at, “Get high, hit the floor before you go”, is bliss. MZ
Cub Scouts – Told You So
From their brand new EP, also titled ‘Told You So’. Great, chilled out Australian indie music. Don’t over think it…. RG
Placebo – B3
One band I want to see, and this song reiterates this want. Classic Placebo. MZ
Tame Impala – Feels Like We Only Go Backwards
Vintage psychedelics yet new school. RG
Foals – Inhaler
Released this week. Heavier, but as always fucking amazing. Touring next year through both UK and for the BDO. Don’t miss it. MZ
Kindness – Cyan
Only getting into this lad now, but i’m hooked intensely. Could’ve probably have slot straight into an LCD Soundsystem LP. MZ
