We are very excited to be promoting the launch of MT Warning’s debut album, Midnight Set, officially released last week.

It’s already been a busy year for the Byron Bay duo, having just returned from a stint at SXSW ahead of their much-anticipated album release.

Most recently here for St Jerome’s Laneway Festival (where they received stellar reviews), the pair have weaved together a unique sonic landscape, taking the listener through reverb-laden ambience, anthemic rock tracks and spindling psych-folk.

When we interviewed Mikey last year he had this to say about the storyline behind the then-upcoming album.. “…we started with a story about someone lost in the ocean, and they’re sinking. They’re going down and the mermaids are taunting them, and this whole song came up with lyrics, the guitars had this mumbling feeling like it might sound in your ear as you’re sinking down. We started in the middle of the story, or what felt like the middle. So how did this guy get here? We wanted to go from the innocence of youth to the contented end of life. So the record tells that story.”

The time has finally come; the album has been released – and the story is here for you to see.

To celebrate the release, Spotify are putting on a launch party in Sydney on April 3 – and we want YOU to join us there!
