Future Classic x le coq sportif: The Reissue Project

Words by Scenewave Australia - Published on August 6, 2014

Future Classic is pretty cool. le coq sportif is pretty cool. I am gonna go out on a limb here and say any form of collaboration between the two would be pretty damn cool too!

The Reissue Project is a collection of limited edition pieces and tracks, pulled from the archive just for you! le coq sportif are delving deep into their extensive collections from the 80’s and 90’s to present six new designs, which will be paired with reissued (and remixed) tracks from Future Classic’s shelves. Touch Sensitive‘s 2006 jam Body Stop”, Flume‘s Unearthed gem “Possum” and many more will be up for download as part of the project. If that doesn’t sound like enough, the FC dudes have recruited Chicago House pioneer Derrick Carter, local Acid House legend DJ HMC (aka Late Nite Tuff Guy) and NYC’s Jacques Renault, as well as from Wolf Music’s Greymatter (UK) and French beatsmith Pyramid to give the tracks a bit of a rework.

So, how do you get your hands on these tracks? Each garment from the new clothing range comes with a unique code, where you can take your pick for which song you want to download – for free! You can also stream them at www.thereissueproject.com from August 14 at 10 am AEST, to make an informed decision.

le coq sportif is known for it’s rad street and sportswear, and this range is no exception. “Retro style in modern fits” is the aim, with drop crotch fitted track pants, fleeced jumpers, raglan tees and bucket hats are on offer – as well as my personal favourite; the reversible jacket. The designs have been inspired by the heritage of the brand itself, as well as clubs of today where many Future Classic artists call home.

The LCS x FC Reissue Project is available in le coq sportif stores, selected Glue Stores nationally and online from 14 August. Don’t miss out!
