Young Henry’s Presents: SMALL WORLDS

Words by Scenewave Australia - Published on September 11, 2014

Beloved Inner West brewery Young Henry’s have really stepped it up a notch. Next weekend, they’re hosting the much-anticipated food, drinks and music event Small Worlds. Considering the sun has just started peeking out, it’s bound to be a seriously fun weekend. If sunshine, good tunes and delicious beer doesn’t sound like the best possible way to spend a Saturday, then I’m not sure what is.

On Saturday September 20, Jabez St, Marrickville will be closed down and filled with edible, drinkable and listenable delights. Set to be a joyous celebration of the vibrant, exciting and much-hyped music and food scene surrounding the Inner West, the day will feature a range of food from nearby eateries, the best in local musical talent, and of course, plenty of craft beers.

The musical lineup sees the likes of stoner rockers Tumbleweed, rockabilly heroes Snowdroppers, seven-piece party-punks Little Bastard, hip hop legends True Vibenation and electrifying garage-punk trio Bloods, among others.

On the culinary level, feat your taste-buds on some of the most well-known and loved Inner West eateries running their own food trucks, including Bloodwood, Cornersmith, Mary’s and Porteno.

And now for the booze: not only will Young Henry’s be providing their exclusive local brew Newtowner, and their highly popular Cloudy Cider, but they’ve also branched out into spirits. In fact, attendees of the event will be among the first to taste a freshly distilled Noble Cut Hand Crafted Gin. Your palette will be delighetd by a gin infused with both classical botanicals and some more interesting ideas, like juniper berries, Tasmanian hops, Australian native bush tomato and Oris Root.

As a huge gin lover myself, I am personally excited to try this gin, and I think that Small Worlds will be the absolutely perfect place for it.

On top of all this, Small World’s will be featuring an eclectic range of local artists taking part in live demonstrations. It’s safe to say that whatever your preference, you’ll find something to love at Small Worlds.
