Introducing: Public Access TV

Words by Scenewave Australia - Published on October 21, 2014

2014 has shed light on some impressive emerging talent. The latest band to enter the fray is New York’s Public Access TV, who have been gathering momentum since their conception in January and have already garnered support from the likes of the NME. After signing with Dew Process in Australia, the band yesterday released their debut single, Rebounder. With splashes of Britpop and a solid foundation of fuzzy garage rock, Rebounder is deceptively bitter under its buoyant, youthful façade. It touches on themes of jealousy, manipulation and casual sex, and in doing so becomes the kind of curiously thought-provoking pop song that is part social commentary, part sunglasses emoji. All in all, it indicates that Public Access TV are about more than just spritely summer jams. We can’t wait to hear more.
