New Brisbane Venue: The Triffid – Launch Party

Words by Scenewave Australia - Published on October 22, 2014

John Collins, of Powderfinger fame, has teamed up with a few others in the industry to bring Brisbane a desperately needed mid-sized venue. Situated in iconic Newstead WWII hangers, The Triffid boasts a capacity of 800, bridging the gap between smaller venues such as The Zoo, and larger ones like The Tivoli.

A launch party, featuring the likes of Saskwatch, The Creases, and Mt Warning, kicks off The Triffid’s introduction to Brissy nightlife with a strong suite of acts. Later in the year the likes of ┬áPaul Dempsey, Velociraptor, Jeremy Neale, The Delta Riggs, and The John Steel Singers, will all be appearing in city’s newest addition to its music scene.
