Royal Blood are almost in Australia

The weather might be cooling down, but the next season of touring bands is only just getting started.

UK duo Royal Blood are touching down at the end of this month for three intimate shows in Sydney and Melbourne. And with all of the attention they’ve been getting recently, it’s unlikely we’ll be able to catch the in such a small room ever again.

The Brighton boys create brutal, primal rock. It manages to stay fresh and exciting while proudly wearing their noisy, rock ‘n roll, bluesy roots on their sleeves. Heavy riffs, punchy vocals and endlessly-headbang-worthy drums. Combine this with the simple rawness of having only a drummer and bassist, this is something we don’t get to hear very often these days. And it is fucking great.

Considering they’ve only got one EP, they’ve been doing damn well. Earlier this year they were named one of the most exciting acts at SXSW, and later this week they’ll be supporting the Arctic Monkeys in London (alongside our own Tame Impala). They’ve also nabbed spots at some of the world’s biggest festivals, including Glastonbury, Reading, Download, Lollapalooza, and more, before touring the US with The Pixies.

Just last night, Royal Blood made their TV debut, performing to a massive international audience on Jimmy Kimmel Live. Watch here:

Known for their intense, powerful live performances, this is not a gig to be missed.
