Of Monsters And Men Australian Tour 2012

Words by Scenewave Australia - Published on July 5, 2012

This July, Australia is lucky enough to be hosting Icelandic indie six-piece Of Monsters And Men for 3 concerts in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne.

Their debut album My Head is an Animal has gained them a ridiculous amount of hype, and we assure you that they’re worth every bit of it.

If I were to place their sound, it would nestle in somewhere between Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros and Radical Face (the guys from that amazing Nikon advert). The use of a vibrant hornline, some wicked harmonies and epic climaxes make this record one that you must check out, and we can only imagine how insane their live show will be this July.

Live, they play with passion and youthful exuberance, often exchanging cheeky grins and winks, as if they’re waiting for someone to pinch them or wake them up from a dream.

Do yourself a favour and get your hands on Of Monsters And Men’s debut record My Head is an Animal. Our favourites here at scenewave have been “Dirty Paws” (featured in our Weekly Playlist 77), “Mountain Sound”, “Little Talks” and “Six Weeks”. We’ve attached a couple of vids below to get you in the mood!

This event is a must attend, so be quick because tickets are on sale now!
